Gender Discrimination in Ontario Family Courts: #1 public policy failure in Canada today

It is really too bad that in a progressive society with a Charter of Rights and Freedoms - the envy of the world - that grave injustices frequently occur to parents and children.

Believe it or not, gender discrimination currently exists in Canada's family courts. Many people laugh it off rather than deal with the hypocrisy. Others are simply not surprised.

Ontario is particularly bad. The rules that govern the judges and the institutions that get funding at the expense of forgotten priorities make it so that parents are treated differently because of their gender, and children suffer.

A few weeks ago I wrote how this bias in Ontario could affect Tie Domi and his children in a very negative way. Today, I am saddened by the Toronto Star's article Wednesday suggesting that two children would still be alive if it weren't for such a recklessly patriarchal system.

Canada's family policy and laws have failed and are brutally out of balance. Family policy is Canada's BIGGEST international embarrassment undermining the sheer credibility of our dearest Charter.

Perhaps Dalton could do his part to help reform the laws that negatively affect more than 50% of Ontario's population even though powerful lobbies still demand the status quo.

Family law is a joint jurisdiction: justice is administered by the provinces. At a later date I will focus on the federal responsibilities. For now, this blog is long enough because this article that reports this tragedy is all important and why those who long for a just society must speak up.

This makes me sick. I've been fighting for sole custody of my children for 7 years. Even when i win. I rarely win. You see, the mentally incapable wife is still allowed to bring further action down the road and open up the whole can of bullshit again.

I better never have to read about my children in the newspaper. Thank god they are almost 8 and 10 now. And, they have lived with me for 7 years now. Still I have to fight.

The courts and those that serve them far too often do not heed the signs of abuse from those that our abusive. Had it been me with the mental illness, I wouldn't see my children for decades.

F#ck.

The what do I know Grit.

James: there are too many stories like yours to for me to count. It is tragic.

Men in this situation are amongst the highest rates of suicides because there is obvious injustice which erodes people's hope.

What is missing is for those negatively affected to organise and to get this on the agenda so that politicians make the necessary changes.

There was a story on this the other night on Global. Unfortunately the voices go unheard. My friend Shoshana thinks I was wrong to blog this on my blog today. I'll let her pretend she's right.

Surpsing she hasn't commented here yet.

Views and TWDIKG: You are not wrong to post this stuff on your blogs. If the truth offends some people, so be it. It makes me ashamed to be a feminist when I see stuff like this going on. It also makes me ashamed to be a Liberal - our record has been an abomination. Thankfully the Quebec Liberal Women's Commission passed a gender-neutral resolution on this last year written by yours truly.

It is awful that the courts still have a gender bias (although I would suggest that it is somewhat better than it once was) and it is sad that james has to go back to court time and time again. But what is the alternative? I know that you have to wait 6 months before bringing a motion on an issue that the court has already ruled on, should this be increased? What about the father of those two children in Barrie, certainly you wouldn't want to take away the rights of fathers like him that are trying to get their children away from an unstable mother and mothers who are trying to get their children away from unstable fathers (I'll grant you that because of gender bias there fewer of those cases).

Because people aren't perfect, you have to deal with an imperfect system and remember judges and social workers are people too.

Anonymous - the system is more than imperfect... it is stacked so that special interests get their way - those who PROFIT -from it being this way. Everybody knows it and it is at the expense of mostly children and fathers.

This is too true. My brother endured hell with a batty ex-wife, as did the children. I'll never forget it as long as I live.

When I heard about this latest news, and that they had lived in Barrie, I wasn't surprised. Barrie, Ontario, has one of the most biased and useless family court systems I've ever seen. It's literally terrifying. Mothers rule, even when they are a danger to their kids. That's just not right.

I have spent the last 2 years trying to prove in court that my ex has lied on every affidavit she signed. My lawyers never did take that battle to court, and they ended up quitting on me, because they didn't want to work on, as they called it, A COMPLEX CASE. So since I had started in court 2 years ago, I have lost my children, my company, and lost friends along the way, because they felt I had no right protecting my rights as being a father to my children. So, now that my second lawyer has quit on me...Today I went to the court house and started a preceding against my ex. For those who don't know what that means, well I had to see a Justice of the peace and fill out paper work so I can set a date to goto court to have my ex charged with MISSLEADING JUSTICE, and CONSPIRICY TO COMMIT AN OFFENCE. I goto court in 2 weeks. I hope to have her charged along with her friend that helped her lie and abuse our system put into place to protect woman who actually are in an abusive relationship. I will update as things progress. I hope in the future that all will finally be 50/50 split custody as a norm.

For those of you that think this will change, your sadly mistaken, it will only get much worse. The Status of Women led by Heddy Hittler has been successful in demonizing Canadian men to the point where it is now impossible for anyone in the country to have sympathy or compasion for the plight of these people (males). In time the children will dispise their fathers just the same, thats the idea. Even some brave lawers with a bit of morality left say that "it has become impossible to defend a Male in Canadian family court. If you where to ask a Jewish person who was in Germany before WW2 they whould agree that this is right out of the Nazi play book. 35,000 Canadian fathers have died (suicide) in the last ten years and I would bet that most Canadian's now believe they probably deserved it or really don't give a shit. It is practically illegal to print such information in the media. Our constitution does no longer apply to Males when objecting to Females whishes in court and that is the result of the "sensitivity training" that is mandatory for our appointed judges and administered by the Status of Women. The children are simply something thats used to increase revenue for the corrupt lawers involved. The next step will be to make it a crime to speak out against anything contrary to this agenda (which is already being discussed in Canadian goverment circles). Deadbeat Dads are manufactured daily by court orders that amount to more that men earn and then these poor Gents are humiliated by their own people in front of the entire world on the internet (this is whats called the star of david list). It is a shame that years from now, the children of Canadian women will be ashamed that their mothers where involved or simply here during this period. After all it is only Canadian women that will be able to fix this atrocity.

The ironic thing is that Canadian men pay for 80% of their own discrimination and say nothing. I am an exiled Canadian living abroad and believe it or not there are thousands of Canadian guys over here just like me (we have chosen not to put guns to our heads). For those of you who think I'm full of crap, DO A LITTLE RESEARCH.

I was doing a little research and came across this blog....What "anonymous" above is saying is so true.
The specialized domestic courts and Family courts are gaining moment and increasing in influence.Local correction facilities are over capacity and so many of them men caught up in a vicious battle for funding, correctional facility expansions and future industry security. As it is clearly obvious that the Family justice system is on a agenda to dehumanize all men ho are not part of their status quo.

I have experienced direct harassment from Police services and social agencies.Scenerios of perjury, intimidation, defamation, slander, and other assorted false accusation. This was just when trying to make a direct inquiry regarding specific policies within the system.Good Times in Ontario

I'm the sort of hombre who passions to try bran-new things. Presently I'm constructing my private pv panels. I'm managing it all by myself without the aid of my men. I'm utilizing the internet as the only path to acheive that. I saw a very amazing site which explains how to contruct solar panels and wind generators. The web site explains all the steps involved in solar panel construction.

I'm not exactly sure about how accurate the info given there is. If some people over here who had xp with these things can have a peak and give your feedback in the site it will be great and I'd really appreciate it, because I really would love to try solar panel construction.

Thanks for reading this. U people are the best.

accountability act\ child rights

There is no way to protect your children the system is set up with mostly women. Some of this system is funded by corporations with special interests /cfs ,womens house, councelling.
Judges are scared to rule for men because they deal with feminist groups on a daily basis.
